About

I am an artist, a writer and a Soldier.  I was born and raised in Chicago, Illinois, in the north side of the city called “Korea Town.”  I learned the meaning and value of hard work from my Korean parents, who migrated to Chicago during the 1970s.  They operated a humble dry-cleaning business and emphasized the importance of earning a good education.

In 2001, I earned my Bachelor of Arts Degree in Computer Graphics from Northeastern Illinois University, with a Minor in Criminal Justice.  In 2006, I graduated with a Master of Fine Arts Degree in 3D Computer Animation from the Academy of Art in San Francisco, with a thesis focus on crime scene reconstruction. As a lifelong learner, I am currently a part-time Business Major at a local community college.

In 2006, I enlisted into the California Army National Guard to become an MP (Military Police).  I have deployed to Iraq and Afghanistan and continue to serve in the Guard today.  Military themes can be seen throughout my artwork and writing.

As a civilian, I currently work as a graphic designer in North Carolina.  My hobbies include reading, writing, art, watching live theater and mixed martial arts, acting, comedy, relaxing at coffee shops, riding my motorcycle (Kawasaki Ninja), getting tattooed, lifting weights, shooting weapons, skating, hiking, camping, going on adventures, road trips, kickboxing, learning outdoor survival skills and fight science.
